(More customer reviews)I was initially wary about purchasing this unit. I read about four reviews and found that half were for and half were less than satisfied. My decision was strictly base on my monies or lack thereof. When the unit arrived it looked humongous but it actually fit right in. The screen shows surprising well. The remote is largish but you can control everything on deck from it. The HD radio is not bad,I have a bunch of stations here that broadcast in HD. The difference is very noticeable. The included i-pod interface worked with my wife's i-pod. I can control all of its functions from the radio.(NICE!)You will have to get used to the playing order though. If you have playlists you're good to go. The EQ is cheesy but I have a passive parametric EQ and I dial in more mids with that. The DVD portion works great,its played every one of my discs so far. Also the video outputs put out a good signal to my head rest monitors. I haven't tried the AUX input yet but I suspect it will work just fine,plus it comes with the cord anyway. One note: Get familiar with the controls on the remote. It is very hard to adjust anything on the deck while you are driving. The buttons have a cheapish feel to them,kinda like they are going to break if you press them too hard. They don't break though,it's just easier to use the remote. All in all I give this a 4 1/2 star rating. The features are there and the price is really good. The unit itself is really nice to look at too when it's on. It has blue backlit buttons and a really bright screen.Oh yeah,one more note: When you have monitors getting a signal from the deck,they show what is on the deck. For example when I have the radio on,the backseat passengers see the radio station and whats playing and such.

Audiovox VOD806 Overhead 8" TV-DVD Player Combo Review

(More customer reviews)I have this DVD player installed in a 2001 Suburban.It fits and looks great with the optional Audiovox overhead console for the Suburban.I opted for that so I wouldn't lose the back seat air controls from the original overhead console.
The unit is easy to operate and works very well.Its screen doesn't close easily and I probably would have thought this to be a defect if the installer hadn't mentioned it when he was showing me how to operate it.A 16:9 screen would be cooler, but for the car the screen size is just fine.
The only problem I've noticed is that it seems to have problems handling imperfections (scratches/fingerprints/debris) on a DVD.It sometimes gets stuck (i.e. pauses) at certain points in a movie.So far this has only happened on DVDs that have visible scratches, fingerprints or debris on them.Skipping forward a little works to get past the problem.Since these same DVDs work flawlessly in our home DVD players and any flaws in the DVDs are very minor I've thought about taking this player back for a replacement.But, since it hardly ever happens I'm okay with it.
Our kids (4 and 2) really like having this in the car.We recently took a trip across the state and when the kids weren't sleeping or coloring, they were watching movies.It was the first long trip during which we didn't hear the "are we there yet" chant from the back seat.The kids were totally content.

McPherson MacPherson Strut Coil Spring Compressor Tool Review

It is heavy making it hard to position in place according to the diagram in the owner's manual.
It is cumbersome, because you need more than two hands to position all four grips.As you go around, the grips you just hooked to the spring come undone.The safety pins too have a mind of their own and slide in and out at will regardless of the spring loaded chrome ball that is supposed to keep them in place.

It is dangerous because despite compressing the spring to the maximum the tool allows and according to the safety directionsthe coil was not completely compressed.When I removed the strut mounting bracket the coil sprang open.I did not expect that.Needless to say I had to make a quick trip to the local auto store to get an additional spring compressor kit of a different design.Otherwise I would not have been able to reassemble the struts.The coil was not compressed enough to clear the threaded shaft.As you line up the grips with much difficulty with the axis of the coil, the position slides out of alignment as you compress the coil.

To sum up, It took me 45 minutes to take apart both struts out the car, 4 hours to replace the struts that entailed compressing the coils, and another 45 minutes to put the new struts back in the car.

Do yourselves a favor, if you do not want to spend 4 hours compressing and changing the coils over to the new struts, you need to get a different tool.It should have taken me no more than an hour to compress both coils and re-assemble them on the new struts.This design uses a 2 point approach.In hindsight the only way to do this right, is to use a 3 point design.That is the only way to compress a coil safely and properly without having any of the safety and slipage issues I encountered.

I did the work on a Honda Odyssey, and this tool alone will not compress the coil sufficiently to disassemble and re-assemble the struts using an 8" maximum opening according to the directions and closing the tool to the maximum allowed ( with safety spacer in place).

I would not even lend this tool to a friend or a neighbor.

(More customer reviews)I was a bit skeptical of this product but decided to take a chance on it.The installation was fairly easy on my wife's 2006 Honda Odyssey.The radio had to come out but that was easy and the USA Spec hooked up in the back with the correct plug.We've been using it for about 2 months and we are very pleased.The sound quality is perfect and it keeps the ipod charged.It also turns it on and off when you would expect (like when you turn off the car).Very nice.

Thule 669TT Mountaineer Rooftop Cargo Box Review

(More customer reviews)I had no concept of how long this box was when I bought it. To give you an idea of how large this box is, it is as long as a twin bed and almost as wide. My roommate thought it was some sort of coffin when she saw it sitting on my bed. I bought this box because it was on sale and I was looking for a cargo box to carry skis/poles/boots or paintball equipment. This was overkill for what I needed. (Though probably still the cheapest option at the time.)

Anywho, I own a 2002 Volvo V70XC and this box, though large, works fine. There is a slight overhang in the front to compensate for the clearance for the rear hatch, but nothing that compromises visibility. The only thing that is not so great is that it does not have any sort of quick release clamp system. It has the usual bolt/plate/nut getup. However, my boyfriend and I still installed it with minimal stress in 45 minutes. Our strategy was to pull the cross bars off of the car, attach them to the box (hand tight) and then lift the whole business onto the factory rails and adjust from there. It worked out great. No tools are needed for the installation aside from what they ship with the box.

I would recommend this box for anyone who needs to double their car capacity (by volume), but not for the average camper/skiier. It is a huuuuuuge box, and probably not worth the hassle if all you're packing is a few pairs of skis or some sleeping bags and a tent.

(More customer reviews)Prior to purchasing this, I had a Dension ice>Link which worked well for a while until I restarted the my car.To restore functionality, I had to pull a fuse out and plug it back in.I did this several times until eventually, it just died on me.

The USA Spec Adapter however gave me no such problems.It's very stable and works exactly as advertised.Installation in my 2005 Accord LX was fairly easy.The toughest part was plugging the socket under the radio without removing the cubby hole -- it's possible but you need small hands.

This is an excellent purchase.I'd recommend this product to anyone.
